Legal Document
Management Software
Every filing, contract, and piece of correspondence classified, assigned, reviewed, and filed against the right matter — with the audit trail built in rather than reconstructed later.

Most firms already have somewhere to put documents. What they do not have is a reliable answer to simple questions: which of these filings still needs a signature, who is responsible for the response due Thursday, and did anyone actually review the amended agreement before it went out.
Those answers live in people's memory and inboxes. Syncra moves them into the document record itself, so the state of a matter is something you can read rather than something you have to ask around about.
What Syncra does with each document
Classification on intake
Each document is identified by type on arrival — pleading, contract, medical record, correspondence — so it lands in the right queue instead of a generic inbox.
Party and deadline extraction
Names, matter references, and dates are pulled out of the document text and attached as structured fields you can filter, sort, and set reminders against.
Routing to an owner
Documents are assigned to the attorney or staff member who has to act, with the assignment visible in their workspace rather than buried in a thread.
Review and approval logging
Approvals are recorded against the document, so the question of who signed off and when has a single answer.
Matter-scoped access
Team membership on a matter determines who can open its documents. Clients see only what has been explicitly shared with them.
Filing without the filing
Once approved, documents are filed against the matter automatically, so the organized state is the default rather than a weekly cleanup task.
How a document moves through the firm
- 01
It arrives
Uploaded from the workspace or forwarded in. No naming convention to remember, no folder to choose.
- 02
It is read and classified
Document type is identified and the parties, matter reference, and any dates are extracted into structured fields.
- 03
It is routed
The document appears in the queue of the person who owns the next step, with the deadline attached.
- 04
It is reviewed
Reviewers act on it in the workspace. Comments, status changes, and approvals are recorded as they happen.
- 05
It is filed
The approved document is filed against the matter with its full history — classification, assignments, approvals — intact.
Questions firms ask
- What does legal document management software actually do?
- It becomes the single place every document in a matter lives. Instead of documents sitting in email attachments and personal folders, each file is classified by type, attached to a matter, given an owner and a due date, and kept with a record of who reviewed and approved it.
- How is this different from a shared drive?
- A shared drive stores files; it does not know what they are. Syncra reads each document, identifies the type, pulls out parties and dates, and puts it in the queue of the person who has to act on it. The folder structure stops being the system of record.
- Can it handle documents that arrive by email?
- Yes. Documents can be uploaded directly or forwarded in, and the classification and routing steps run the same way regardless of how the file arrived.
- Who can see which documents?
- Access is role-based. Staff work in the firm workspace, administrators manage users and firm settings, and clients see only the documents explicitly shared with them in a read-only portal.
- What happens to documents after they are approved?
- They are filed against the matter with the approval logged, so the record of who signed off and when stays attached to the document rather than living in someone's inbox.
